Adult Counselling in Surrey

Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, Burnout & Life’s Challenges

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties or a sense that things simply feel harder than they should. At times, people reach a point where they feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward.

I offer adult counselling in Surrey for individuals looking for a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore what they are going through.

Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or carrying a more general sense of feeling stuck, therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand yourself, develop healthier coping strategies and feel more grounded in everyday life.

A Space to Talk Openly Without Judgement

Many adults spend years trying to manage everything alone. Work pressures, relationships, family responsibilities and the pace of modern life can leave little room to process how we are actually feeling.

Therapy offers a space where you do not need to “hold it together”.

Together, we can explore the thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, while working towards greater clarity, confidence and emotional balance.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Stress and burnout

  • Depression and low mood

  • OCD and obsessive thoughts

  • ADHD and neurodiversity

  • Bereavement and grief

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Work-related stress

  • Life transitions and uncertainty

  • Identity and purpose

  • Social anxiety

  • Emotional overwhelm

Therapy for Professionals &
High-Pressure Careers

Many of the adults I work with are balancing demanding careers alongside personal pressures. This can include professionals working in education, finance, law, healthcare, business and other high-responsibility environments.

Having previously worked within both educational and professional settings, I understand the pressures that can come with high expectations, heavy workloads, perfectionism and burnout.

Sometimes people appear to be coping externally while internally feeling anxious, exhausted or emotionally disconnected.

Therapy can help create space to slow down, reflect and regain a healthier sense of balance.

My Approach to Counselling

I work integratively, meaning sessions are adapted to suit you as an individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

My work draws from several therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Person-centred therapy

  • CBT

  • Psychodynamic therapy

  • Humanistic approaches

  • Relational therapy

Some clients benefit from practical coping strategies and structured work, while others need a reflective space to process emotions and experiences more deeply. Therapy is collaborative, and we work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What to Expect From
the First Session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you have never spoken to a counsellor before.

The first session is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss what support you may be looking for. There is no pressure to share everything immediately, and sessions move entirely at your pace.

By the end of the session, we should both have a clearer understanding of whether the counselling relationship feels like the right fit moving forward.
